Cafe Balcony

Each month a new visual art exhibit is installed at Café Balcony. All our artists are local talent, and we have featured every kind of art from modern and abstract paintings to photography, collage, and small-scale installations. Featured subjects have included pop culture, emotions, travel, and foreign culture. If you're looking for something new for your apartment or house, many of our artists do also offer their works for sale.

Greg Schenk

For me photography is usually a stepping stone in the generation of a work, but in this case these digital images are the final works. I think of them not as prints but constructions in low relief, as the frames are as much a part of the work as is the image. The idea was to create art in a mass medium whose functions are to add color and form to a space; while providing a fertile ground to inspire a train of imaginative or introspective thought.
